my first two classes today weren't terribly bad, as they were moderated by an inaugural trip to maricopa, which, as always, satisfied me in a way only it can. GPH314 (Global Change,) which i thought was going to be about climates and how the earth responds to it, is in fact about globalization and its predicted and past effects on the world. the professor started the lecture by "blaming the problems of racism and the rise of capitalism on the north atlantic cod." it was phenomenal. then was ECN294 (Honors Macroeconomics,) with the head of the econ dep't, art blakemore. i was so excited for this class and thought it was going to be the best thing ever. in actuality, he is the worst lecturer in the entirety of the world and i fell asleep. in the first class. i have never heard a more boring definition of GDP in my life. ever. and the man has worked for alan greenspan. i mean, i partied with that cracka last week and he is off the chain--you wouldn't think he would work with anyone that FUCKING boring.
tomorrow it's class from 915-130, bee shots at mayo at 240, work from 430-930, paper on globalization to follow. it should be an interesting day. and maybe ben will move in sometime in there. maybe. |

well, after a two week invasion, my sister and her kids have finally left the building. at five this morning. which means that i, of course, got woken up at 430 by the youngest  "steve--we have to go back to michigan now. get up!"
i am physically exhausted. i don't know how she does it. we went duck hunting yesterday. and by hunting, i mean feeding. i really am tired. 
and we did a LOT of swimming. thus i'm REALLY red, sore from their jumping on my back, and generally waterlogged. this was in addition to frog hunting, mountain hiking, and "i didn't do it" explaining
they're so fucking adorable.  but damn their names are weird. i mean, my sister's name is crystal (btw--she's my half sister--you're not completely out of the loop if you've never heard of her,) but her kids' names are infinitely weirder. gabrielle samantha, vincent something, hunter jeffrey, and evan joseph. i mean, those are some damn crazy names. |

so i tried to start cleaning my room, which proved to be highly unsuccessful. which is really unfortunate, because i stopped cleaning it because i got tired, and now all i wanna do is sleep.
however, if you look at the picture closely, you will see that i had some change at the bottom of the storage bin. so it's almost like i'm being paid to clean my room. so i guess that's a plus.
my neice and newphews are here, along with my sister from another (i wanna say mister here, but that just wouldn't be accurate) mother. kinda loses something in the truth. which a lot of things do, as i've learned lately.
it's nice to have them here, the little rugrats they are and all. that's right, i used the term rugrats. i'm turning nineteen next month--i think i'm at the point in my life where i can use it without seeming foolish.
also, i'm not working a lot for the rest of the summer, and i'd probably like to see you and stuff, so gimme a call--you know the number. if you don't, i probably didn't want to see you that much anyway

a lot of things have changed since i first tried it. so here goes.
i'm watching storytellers:coldplay. it's pretty interesting. i'm really sick, however, of the lead singer (his name will come to me)'s equal sign on his hand. we get it. you want equal trade. maybe you should stop buying 4000 dollar perambulators for fucking apple. i'm sure some unfair labor played into that somehow.

however, one thing that is amazing is freakonomics, a book i've been reading as of late. i'm really liking it.
